Laila is a Burmese refugee, wife and mother. She is also a warrior.

Having fallen in love with a man from a different faith, Laila and her husband, Ali, fled the violence and persecution of Burma and were exiled to Malaysia. Two decades and three incredible children later, she and her family sought permanent asylum in the United States.

Laila wants nothing more than to raise her boys in a safe country, a healthy community and a happy home where love knows no bounds. Just like every mom in the world.
