This past weekend, many amazing volunteers pulled together on short notice to collect clothing, food and home items, and clean/set up 2 apartments in Elizabeth for families arriving from Afghanistan and Iraq. The results were warm, welcoming homes with everything the families could need upon arrival. We received a beautiful letter from one of the families, that they asked be shared with all of the volunteers:

We love our beautiful new Home and we cannot thank you enough for your Help, support and Generosity, i want to thank all the volunteers who helped me and i know i cant thank them enough, i want to thank the IRC for their real support and integrity
i wished you were here in my home when my 2 daughters saw their room and all the toys, their joy and laughters made me cry.
We are forever in your debt for helping us through this tough time and I will always remember how you helped me to get this wonderful opportunity to raise my children in a healthy community to have an opportunity in their future lives
thank you again for all the efforts and all the sweat that you spent and i know that Love that you gave expresses your humanity and manners.
